I continue to learn and relearn the truth in this as I face business failures, college rejections, and increasing rent prices. We all want to make big impacts on the world and do great things – to go beyond. But how do we do that?

The answer is simple: Surround yourself with the right people.

My name is Rachel and I am a LaunchX 2020 alum, four-time startup founder, and professional amateur triathlete. I am proud to say that I’ve always had some crazy ambitious goals throughout my life (including going to the Olympics as an equestrian showjumper, making it on Forbes 30U30, building a venture fund for female-led startups, creating an alternative education path for entrepreneurial HS students, getting into Harvard, competing in the Ironman world championships, directing a high fashion women-in-sports photoshoot campaign, etc.). But how do you achieve these goals?

Simon Sinek believes it starts with purpose – knowing your ‘why’ and that it fuels your drive and keeps you moving forward.

Angela Duckworth says it’s all about grit – the passion and perseverance for long-term goals.

Brene Brown leans on vulnerability – having the courage to show up and be seen, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Malcolm Gladwell argues it’s about relentless effort – putting in 10,000 hours of deliberate practice.

All the above are true, but I would seek to add another - it’s about the people.
